Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a fab-u-lous day. It’s been a bright breezy day in happy longarm quilter land. I spent my whole day in my sewing room longarm quilting Claudia’s EPP #2. You might remember me working on a diamond EPP laid out in a star shape last week. Well this one is very similar but I longarm quilted it slightly different. Here’s last week’s effort ….
Here’s todays effort …..
Do you notice how the texture is a wee bit different this time? That’s because I placed the curvy contour quilting in different places than I did with last week’s effort.
Using quilting to denote shapes is a clever way of making your quilt more interesting. For instance, if you want a shape to stand out, don’t do much stitching in it. To bring more attention to your chosen shape, do some denser stitching around said shape and this will make it pop.
Tomorrow I will be loading the last of Claudia’s quilts, another EPP diamond star quilt, and I will vary the stitching design slightly giving it a different look once again. I probably won’t start the quilting tomorrow because I my feet need a little rest after standing all day today. While I’m resting my feet I plan on joining some Dresden Plate blocks in the Quilt as You Go method. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed hand quilting my Dresden blocks. And now the end result is in sight. Later this week I hope to post a report about quilting hoops. There’s one hoop I especially love and I really want to share my thought about it.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand quilting once again. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until your read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
