Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. I filled my day with errands and a little bit of sewing.
It’s been a dreary day in my little corner of the northeast of England but I didn’t let it hamper progressing thru my To-Do List. My plan of action included running some errands. And my trip out was really successful. My main goal was to find myself a pair of comfy shoes to wear on days spent longarm quilting. I found a pair of memory foam soled shoes which I think will do the trick. Hooray.
Once lunch was finished I disappeared into my sewing room to work on my Dresden Plate blocks. I will be guiding a few ladies thru my Quilt as You Go method of joining quilts tomorrow. So working on my Dresden Plate blocks was a good refresher for me and besides it gives me a couple of samples at different stages of the method. Because I spent a few evenings hand quilting my blocks, I was able to skip straight to squaring off my blocks …..
And after cutting the sashing strips I joined the blocks according to my preferred method breaking it down in steps and so on …..
I think my little sample quilt is going to be lovely once it’s all joined together including some interesting borders. Quilt as You Go is the perfect way to quilt and join up all your blocks eliminating the hassle of dealing with a large quilt top.
You can tell autumn has really set in by the look of the trees in my front garden. They’re practically naked! Although I really do love this time of year the trees look so sad! On the upside I have enjoyed crunching thru the leaves whenever I have walked anywhere.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some more hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
