Hello my lovelies. I hope you’re all had a grand day. I’ve had another very productive day in my sewing room. My plan of action included working on Isobel’s Tartan quilt and perhaps if I still a wee bit of energy I wanted to do a little more work on yesterday’s Christmas Stocking. Well I’m very pleased to tell you that thru sheer determination I was able to finish Isobel’s fab quilt. This is what the quilt looks like now …..
I’m so jealous. I wish I had the guts to piece and longarm quilt a Tartan/Tweed quilt before now. Isobel’s quilt top quilted beautifully without any tension or thread breaking issues. This is the first wool quilt I’ve longarm quilted. And I had a really good practice today because Isobel’s quilt is almost 100” square. That’s a rather big quilt. I’m quite sure that Isobel will be pleasantly surprised when she sees her quilt up close and in person sometime soon.
I was determined that I would do a wee bit of work on yesterday’s Christmas Stocking; well I managed to machine the binding around the edges. It’s not much progress but it does give me a little bit of armchair work for this evening when I will be hand finishing the binding onto the back. I have one or two more steps and the stocking will be ready to hand over.
It’s been a really good productive day in my little world. I’ve kept myself busy all day; kept my mind occupied because I wanted to keep my excitement at bay. I’m excited because my Sarah is coming home from university for the weekend. I’ll be meeting her at the train station in about an hour. So I worked really hard today and now my reward is spending the weekend with my Sarah.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand finishing the binding on the Christmas Stocking. I hope you all have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
