Hello my lovelies. Have you all had a good and productive day? It’s been lovely in my little corner of the northeast of England today. The sun’s been shining and the leaves have been crunching under my feet. Today has been the perfect day. I love autumn.
I didn’t do any longarm quilting today. What I had planned for today turned out completely different to what I was hoping. My Sarah decided she was coming home for the weekend at the last minute which propelled me into a spin. I set off first thing this morning to restock the fridge and pantry and refuel Miss Daisy the car for the weekend ahead. I made my way over to Country Baskets to purchase ribbon for my Christmas Surprise classes and got caught in a major traffic jam. Everything seemed to take longer to get done this morning. By the time I got home from my morning adventure it was too late to start longarm quilting. So I studied the current quilt loaded in my longarm quilting system and planned how I would quilt the borders. So at least I have a plan of action for Monday.
Sarah requested soup for her evening meal; so I made a pot of soup. I did some washing and I tidied up a bit. And then when I finally sat down for a little break I started to think about what I accomplished last evening. I went upstairs and dragged down one of my work boxes …..
What do you think this box contains?
It contains a clamshell UFO project of course! Do you know what my favourite bit of contents of this box is? Well it’s this little box within the big box …..
This little box use to contain this verbena scented soap.
And the little box has been turned into a pincushion for some lovely fine patchwork pins. They work so well for hand sewing.
When I opened the big box to extract my ready pieced clamshell project I got a waft of the lovely verbena soap.
I am an avid collector of smelly soaps. Especially soaps that come in a nice decorative box or tin. Putting my smelly soaps in a work box makes working on a project all the more interesting.
When I started feeling a bit overwhelmed with technology a few days ago I decided to concentrate on my UFO projects. That’s why I got my clamshells out again after a year of being tucked away. I will have plenty of extra time to work on and finish off my UFOs in 2016 because I won’t be teaching on a regular basis as I have been doing over the last couple of years. All the new designs I have recorded on paper will resurface and I will enjoy bringing said designs to life. You may have already heard that Stitchin’ Heaven will be closing on Christmas Eve. They’re having a big sale, 50% off all stock until Christmas Eve. I’ll be teaching my beginners tomorrow and Saturday and hope to pick up a few bargains. I must study my project list and purchase accordingly.
So that’s my big news for today. I’ve had a pretty good day in my little world. I am now starting to think about the challenges ahead of me. I look forward to working on UFOs and new projects and perhaps merge the two. So be sure to pop in often to see what I get up to in the year ahead.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be working on clamshells again. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly love. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
