Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. I spent the day in my sewing room finishing off Sue’s quilt. I quite enjoyed working on this quilt. Sue’s choice of fabric, especially the crisp white background fabric goes so well with the deeper prints. I will be quilting a similar one soon, so now I have got a better idea of what I can stitch on it. Here’s a little peek at the finished quilt ….
I was expecting a special delivery all the way from Essex yesterday. This delivery did not take place until today. While I worked in my sewing room this was being installed in my loft ….
We upgraded our beloved Gerty the GrandQuilter to a Jackie the Juki. We placed the order back in August after having a test drive at The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham. Sarah and I were both quite impressed with how smooth the machine moves across the tracks. After much pondering and with hubby’s blessing, we decided that we would invest in this system. This means that my Sarah will have something to stir her creative juices on her days at home and when she needs to create pieces of artistic stitching for her university assignments. I think Sarah will enjoy working on this new system so much that she will machine quilt a lot of quilt tops for our favourite charity.
So although there was a lot going on in my loft, I had made good use of my day. I’m very pleased with the finished result of Sue’s quilt. I went on to do a wee bit of writing and paperwork. And at one point the sun was shining beautifully making me want to sing. Tomorrow I will be popping over to my monthly sewing group. I love working on projects as a group. Getting out for a few hours will do me a world of good.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be getting ready for tomorrow’s sewing session. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy doing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
