Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. We’ve had a little sunshine in my little corner of the northeast of England. I had so many things to do today that I thought I would meet myself coming in the other direction! Truth be told I think I over estimated how much one person can do in one day. Somehow I got everything done that needed to be done. Woohoo
On my return home I disappeared into my sewing room to piece a Quilt as you Go Log Cabin block sample. I had limited time to produce it but I was determined. Because I had limited time and for ease I decided that I should sacrifice one of my Jelly Rolls. Well this in itself presents a problem because I find it so difficult to pull the ribbon off a Jelly Roll. I need therapy to learn to cope with the task of pulling the ribbon off and pulling the roll apart! Well I eventually did manage to pull the ribbon …..
And once my prep work was done I started the process of piecing the block.
I do have a reason for piecing this block. I was trying to tempt of few ladies who attend a monthly sewing session to have a go at making some of these blocks. I can report that my proposition was met with great enthusiasm. They raided the scraps bins and helped themselves to backing fabric and wadding. I really look forward to seeing what they will produce at our next meet in January. In the mean time I can piece a few more blocks and perhaps even join them all and turn them into a quilt for my favourite charity. It’s great trying out different techniques.
While I was working on my Log Cabin block this morning I discovered that I had lost an earring. We’re talking about my favourite wee diamond earrings. I don’t wear big blingy jewellery. I don’t own a great deal of jewellery. I’ve been wearing these earrings for at least eight years. And I can count on one hand with fingers leftover how many times I’ve changed my earrings for the day. So I was heartbroken when I discovered the loss. I looked around in all the places I had been during the morning but I couldn’t find said earring. I wasn’t even sure when I had last the noticed the earring in my earlobe. I went off to my sewing session wearing only one earring because I couldn’t bring myself to take the other one off. To my relief I found my wee earring on my bedside rug a few minutes ago. I didn’t find the back but I’m sure I can purchase a couple of new backs somewhere. Woohoo
So it’s been another busy day in my little world. I’ve had a few ups and a few downs but all in all it’s been a good day. The sun was shining and I got to do a little sewing. I had a good catch up with the ladies who attend our monthly sewing session. It did me good to get out for a bit.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some clamshell work. I hope you all have a super cosy evening doing what you love the most. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
