Hello my lovelies. I hope you all had a little sunshine in your life today. Along with a bit a sunshine hope you were in good company. Life offers all kinds of pleasures but quite often it the simple things that make us the happiest. A kind word and a smile go a long way
In my day-to-day routine, I spend a lot of time on my own. My little Maisie dog follows me from room to room and I chat quite a lot to her but she doesn’t answer very often. In order to work out creative designs, such as my Whimsical Appliqué and Stitchery projects, I find that quiet time works very well for me. However, when it comes to stitching time though, a little entertainment helps me stick to the job at hand. A good old fashion whodunit always keeps me on track. Yesterday I wrote about the stitch and natter sessions and how they were good for us. I find stitching in the company of like-minded ladies inspires and spurs me on. Human contact such as good conversation and having a good laugh is definitely good for the soul. It makes you feel good all over and it takes you away from the stresses of everyday life. Not to mention that it helps you to make new friends.
I spent today in good company. I turned into a lady who does lunch for today. It wasn’t a fancy lunch. There were no cocktails due to the fact that I had to drive but the company was good so it didn’t matter what we ate or drank because we enjoyed the company. I saved my cocktail for this evening. I may even have two!
Now because I was out all day I don’t have much sewing progress to show you today. However, I am very happy to show you Mr. Chillingsworth in use and in situ …..
My Sarah took Mr. Chillingsworth back to her uni accommodation at the beginning of the year. And apparently it has been well used especially with all the cold and frosty nights we’ve had over the last few weeks. So Mr. Chillingsworth is doing exactly what he was meant to do.
With all the talk about stitch and natter sessions, stitching with a little entertainment in the background and working on creative designs when it’s quiet, I would also like to mention that all our creative pursuits are good for us. And this bring me back to an article I came across a good while ago about how patchwork is a great pursuit. And here’s the article which I posted about a good while ago but I thought those of you who haven’t read it might be interested.
It’s been a really great day in my little world. I was in good company and had a super time out. I look forward to doing it sometime soon. Tomorrow I’m off to have my hair cut. I’ll feel like a new woman when I leave my hair stylist. Woot woot!!!
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hexie work. I only have a couple of hundred more hexagons to go to finish this project. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
