Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a good productive day. Yesterday I gave myself permission to play today. I did play but I played quietly. I prepped seven blocks for my Quilts on the Grow QAL. Here are photos of said blocks tacked and ready for the fine hand appliqué stage …..
For some unknown reason, I always under estimate how long certain tasks will take. Well today’s effort took most of the day. I started at about 9am, took 30 minutes for lunch and carried until 3:30pm. While I did my prep work I watched several episodes of The West Wing series 1. The TV series is ages old and well dated but I am enjoying it. I don’t know why I didn’t watch it when it was on all those years ago. Better late than never I guess.
Today is pancake day but I will be saving my pancakes for the weekend. And Sunday is Valentine’s Day. In my house Valentine’s Day has rarely been celebrated. I like soppy cards, lovely flowers and useless trinkets. I recently heard about Galentine’s Day which is supposed to be on Saturday February 13th. I don’t know a great deal about it but I think I may just take part in my own way. So on Saturday I’m going to purchase something a wee bit special for myself and my Sarah. It might be some fresh flowers, special chocolates or something else. Why wait for a man to buy us trinkets when we’re perfectly capable of doing it ourselves!
So it’s been a pretty good day in my little world. I played quietly at my favourite slow and measured pace while making progress on my QAL. With each hexagon that I complete I can see my project growing and looking better and better. It was nice to work quietly as my yard work injury from two weeks ago it still a bit tender. Rotary cutting is still a bit difficult but in time I will be right as rain. Tomorrow it’s back to longarm quilting.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be working on QAL hexagons. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
