Hello my lovelies. Have you all had a great day like me??? I stepped out this morning for a wee consultation. Isn’t it funny how much you can learn about yourself when someone asks you the right questions. I came home totally inspired and encouraged.
So what have I been working on today??? The short answer is absolutely nothing! I was hoping to start the custom quilting work on Marion’s quilt but I got home too late to even contemplate starting that. So I cuddled my Maisie dog and took notes about this morning’s meeting. Inspiration can be found in many places, all you need is the courage to grab it and turn it into something absolutely wonderful.
I do have a little progress report about my wee hexagon project. I’m not entirely sure, but I think I started these red hexagons at least six years ago.
And I have worked on it on and off over the years. Well I promised myself that I would finish this project this year. And I’m well on the way to finishing. Here are the last few hexagons that need to be joined together in order to form the very last side border. I’m looking forward to moving on to the next UFO.
Every year I start off with the best intentions. Well this year I am determined to finish as many UFOs as I can. And if I can’t finish something I will pass it on to someone who will. It’s time to get rid of the deadwood and surround myself with lovely things that make me an even happier longarm quilter than I already am.
I mentioned yesterday that I fancied doing some crochet work and that I finally found my crochet hook roll yesterday …..
Well in order to mix it up a wee bit, I’m going to spend some time joining some of the granny squares which I crocheted a couple of years ago. It will make a nice change from sewing. I’m sure a little crochet blanket would come in handy for someone. I’m quite partial to granny squares because that’s what I practiced on when I was learning to crochet some 45 years ago. My goodness has it really been that long since I learn to crochet??? Am I really that old. Well I don’t feel that old.
It’s been a really good day in my little world. I had a little drive out in the brilliant sunshine. My meeting was very beneficial and made me feel like a valued member of society. And the inspiration I gleaned is invaluable. I feel another great project coming on.
I’m going to remind you that I am hosting a great giveaway. To find out the details click here. I’m willing to post the prizes anywhere in the world. So don’t be shy enter the draw.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be finishing up some wee hexagons. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly love. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
