Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a great day. With the day turning dark and dreary at lunch time, I wished I could escape to a bright and happy place. So I have been dreaming about spending time in my imaginary beach hut; listening to the waves washing up the sandy shore while I read interesting patchwork books and magazines and sipping tasty lattes and eating lovely treats. We haven’t had a really bad winter but I feel it has dragged on for too long now. I’m actually looking forward to spring and summer. I want to feel the warmth of the sun and I want to stop wearing so many layers in order to keep warm. Perhaps while I wait for spring and summer to arrive, I should make a small quilt using bright sunny summery prints. I’ll add this project to my ever growing list of things I would like to start.
It’s a while since I had a little chance to play with paper and different colouring mediums. I actually got to work on an art journal page recently. It’s amazing what happens when your friend supplies you with water colour paper, Gelatos, rubber stamps, sequin waste, scrapbooking papers and paint. I used all that to produce this …..
My colour palette is generally a muddy one but the effect I wanted was bright and cheerful. So I used blue and turquoise for the back and added muddy colour leaves. I don’t consider myself to be very artistic but I must admit that I enjoyed my messy time. And I hope to do it again soon.
So it’s been a pretty productive day in happy longarm quilter land. I’m still chipping away at attaching the last part of my hexagon quilt. I can already see how nice the quilt will be once it’s finished. I will soon have the dilemma of how to quilt it. It’s feel so good to be at the end of a long running UFO project. I have already chosen the next one but you’ll have to wait until next time to see what it is.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be finishing up a wee hexagon project. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
