Hello my lovelies. Have you all had a good and interesting weekend? Mine went by in a flash. I have been busy flitting around from one thing to another. And surprisingly enough I got quite a lot done. I love productive days.
So today was spent sorting a few household things. I loaded a quilt into my longarm quilting system. I picked two names from all the entrants in the Be Creative with Workbox magazine I have been hosting. And I chose the next UFOs which I will be working on and hopefully that finishing in a reasonable time frame.
First let’s post the winners of the giveaway. The winners are:
Bette Inderski of Iowa
Christine of Hastings
Congratulations ladies, I will be contacting you both in order to get your postal addresses. Thank you for the folks at Be Creative for sending me a couple of complimentary copies to share with you.
I have been working on a specific UFO for what seems like weeks and weeks now. My red hexagon quilt top which I started some 6 years ago is finished.
The quilt top will need a good press before I start quilting it but all in all I’m very pleased with the finished result and it can only get better when I add the quilting. I have ordered a nice wide back which I hope arrives soon. I’m not sure whether it will get an all over quilting design or a custom job. I am so very happy to have finished this quilt top. I’m looking forward to using it to bring me comfort and warmth. I believe that quilts are made to be used and love.
Now I can jump to the next UFO ….. this project I started last autumn I think. I made a template and worked out how I was going to approach the job. I tacked all the shapes to the background and now I am doing the hand appliqué work. I’m more than halfway thru this stage. I plan on making this one a full size quilt. I’m going to look forward to working on this one. I love hand appliqué work. I love fine needles and even finer thread. I love the way the fine thread disappears leaving no visible stitches. To think that I avoided hand appliqué for some many years because I thought I just couldn’t do it. Now I am addicted!!!
So the last few days have been quite productive in my little world. The next few days will be rather busy for this very happy longarm quilter. I have enough appointments and meetings to keep well and truly busy so I might be a little quiet for a few days.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
