Hello my lovelies. I hope you all had a fabulous Tuesday. I just realised this morning that we’re halfway thru the month of March. Time just flies. It passes you by and before you know it another year has disappeared. So I guess we should make the most of each day. And so I did.
There was no sunshine this morning so I decided to keep myself busy regardless. I perform better when the sun is energising me but I did alright nonetheless. I’m in the mood for spring cleaning but before I can do that I must clear a lot of clutter. So I started by clearing a few shelves. Two boxes later the shelves are clutter and dust free. What a difference 20 minutes makes. It feels good to remove the clutter. Somehow it makes me feel free.
While I make a few decisions about my latest UFO project I have chosen and switched to another to keep moving forward. The project is stored in this box …..
I started this project a couple of years ago. It’s not a going to be a gigantic quilt but as it’s all hand pieced it will take a while to get it pieced.
All the cutting was done when I originally started …..
You have probably already guessed that it’s a double wedding ring. And all the patches were rubber stamped and cut out …..
Has anyone else every used By Kate rubber stamps for patchwork? It’s quite a good way to do it. And although I am hand piecing my quilt I suppose you could use this method using your favourite sewing machine. I feel I have better control of such small patches if I sew by hand. And the hand pieced method makes a super armchair project.
So it’s been a lovely quiet day in my little world. Once again I flitted around doing this and that and feeling like I wasn’t accomplishing a whole lot of anything but surprisingly enough I did. The washing machine whirred and the dryer clunked. The vacuum cleaner worked a treat on my rugs and I can finally see thru one or two of my windows. There’s still plenty to be done but tomorrow is another day. I would much rather be sewing than cleaning.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand sewing some double wedding ring components together. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
