Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all enjoyed a sunshine filled day. I’ve had more energy today than I’ve had in quite some time. So I got everything on my To-Do List done and went on to do a few more things. My front garden has never looked tidier and my kitchen floor is downright sparkling clean. And my fridge is fully stocked with lovely healthy fresh food which will give me energy for the rest of the week.
In between jobs I sat and made a start on my mixed media background. I turned this white page …..
Into this …..
And once I finished adding colour and texture to the background I will add this journal page which will complete the first page of my scrapbook.
I’m not exceptionally good at this mixed media stuff but I am becoming more comfortable with it. I seem to accept my work as it turns out much more easily nowadays. This kind of artwork is fun and provides great therapy. I’m learning to use all those obscure art supplies I have purchased over the years that have been stored away to be used someday. I guess someday has arrived. Hopefully I’ll soon get around to using up all those fat quarters which I collected with the plan that I would use them someday.
I’ve had two projects bubbling up to the surface lately. Both involve beach huts and sunshine. The next step involves finding a few fat quarters in the right colours and pattern that would suit said projects. It always seems that no matter how much fabric you have in your stash you can never find the right print and shade. I’m going to do my best to use what I’ve got. Someday I will have used enough of my stash that I have room to store new collections.
It’s been a really lovely day in little world. It feels like a long time since I’ve felt this good. At the moment everything is ticking over nicely. I hope the next few days go as well as today. I think I need a little trip to the beach for a little bit more inspiration for my new projects.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be joining some Quilts on the Grow Quiltlets. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy doing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
I can see those pages being beautiful and interesting as you are very artistic in many ways. Aha, beach huts which you’ve not mentioned much lately, but when I see them here on the beach around Port Phillip Bay, I always think of you. Take care.
It’s a long time since I’ve given myself permission to dream about beach huts. I wish I owned one of my own so I could escape now and again. It’s a lovely sunny day again and I managed to do everything on my To-Do List and a little more so far today. Thanks for popping in Susan.
Just got back from holiday today, when I’m away I always find a fabric shop and buy fabric, even just a fat quarter, this week I was exceptionally good and only bought a thimble, this is joining an ever increasing collection of thimbles, I’ve yet to find one that suits, I think the collection is going to grow a bit yet.
A good comfortable thimble can be hard to find. So when you find one that works for you make sure to buy two and put the second by in case the first disappears. I have a favourite thimble made by Roxette. It’s open ended which means my finger doesn’t sweat as much. I can’t sew without a thimble. Have a great weekend Val. I look forward to a catch up next week.
