Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a great day. Although it’s April 26th we have had rather wintry weather pretty much all day. I’ve watched the rain, sleet and snow blowing across my window horizontally. I’ve experienced quite more wintry showers today, than I did all winter long. I’m looking forward to seeing the sun again. And hoping it brings some warmth.
I had a day full of meetings so there wasn’t a great deal of anything productive going on. So I can only show you what I started last evening …..
This is the start of the background I plan on using in my beach hut project. I did all the prep work including marking the ¼ seam allowance pencil lines to keep me on track when I was sewing. And I went on to hand piece two rows of squares together. They still need to be joined together. The most difficult part was the fabric print placement. I really like the neutral prints which I hope will not detract from the beach huts when then are added.
My lovely friend Gail popped in this morning to collect a project. We had a little chat about trending topics. It turns out she drove thru all weathers and terrible road conditions to get to me! To my surprise Gail brought me a little gift for which I’m grateful because it came at just the right time on the right day. Gail presented me with this lovely handmade drawstring bag which was filled with some of my favourite chocolate treats. Thank you so much Gail. You just made my day.
It’s been a lovely day in my little world; albeit not very productive as there just wasn’t enough time between meetings to get much done. However, my meetings produced loads of information and plenty of inspiration. I’ll be busy over the next few days writing plans and recording new ideas for future projects. Life is on the cusp of getting really interesting for this very happy quilt maker.
So for this evening, this very happy and ambitious longarm quilter will be working on joining more beach hut background squares. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
