Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super productive day. I did a wee bit of longarm quilting this morning and I played with my apple core quilt top this afternoon. So all in all I have had a super productive time today.
I set my apple core quilt top aside a few days ago because I needed to work out a plan of action. My final step was to add the outer border to the curvy edge of the apple cores. So I cut a few strips of the hot pink fabric that I chose and then I had no excuse to delay get started. I joined two strips for each side. And then joined two border strips and started pinning, working from the joined corners outward. Eventually I had to measure and cut off the excess fabric left in the last corners. And it all worked out nicely. I tacked all the curvy apple core bits in place and now I can appliqué the outer edges of the apple cores onto the hot pink border. I think I will need a funky backing fabric for this particular quilt because the top is quite colourful and a wee bit over the top lively. I have promised myself that I’m going to use this quilt. It’s going to be a part of my new exciting life.
I love a good murder mystery on TV. And I watch them quite a lot; especially while I work on my armchair projects in the evening. Sometimes I wish I could be a detective chasing up clues to solve similar mysteries. How interesting it must be to fit the puzzle pieces together. In today’s modern times, bank and credit card statements and social media can provide so many clues and even important leads to evidence. Miss Marple would be amazed about how times have changed. As exciting as this type of work looks to me at the moment, I think I’ll stick to what I do best; being creative is my favourite outlet.
Along with all my productive accomplishments today, I received a wonderful surprise. The doorbell rang late afternoon and when I opened the door a man handed me a box. The box contained beautiful flowers. I love receiving flowers. In all the excitement I forgot to take a photo of said flowers before I loaded this post on my blog today. That’s two gifts I received this week! I must have been a really good girl lately to deserve two gifts in one week. I do try to be a good person.
It’s been a really good day in my little quiet world today. Even though the weather is still quite wintry I didn’t notice too much because I kept myself good and busy. Keeping busy is the best way to get thru the week.
So for this evening, this very happy and ambitious longarm quilter will finish tacking apple cores in place and possibly hand piece some more beach hut background squares. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
