Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a fabulous creative day. I spent most of the day doing boring household chores, running a couple of errands and then I spent a lot time dreaming of the future. My daydreams were mainly about having nice weather.
I’m still beavering away on my beach hut background. I should be finished sometime this week and then I can start the fun part. I will be dragging out my stash scrapbook papers and cutting out shapes and laying them out on the background in order to decide exactly how many beach huts and where they will go. It’s going to be a small piece of appliqué and I’m not even sure yet if I’m going to secure the patches in place by hand or machine. I love fine hand appliqué using freezer paper but perhaps for speed sake I will go the sewing machine route this time. And why not use a different technique for a change. And perhaps I will give is a wonky naïve look which will make it interesting. I’m looking forward to moving forward on this project. I’ve already got a plan for how it will be used.
Yesterday I received some flowers from an admirer …..
Some of the blooms haven’t even opened yet. This is the packaging for said flowers …..
So if you don’t happen to be home when they’re delivered, the delivery man just pushes the box thru the post box in your door …..
It’s a very clever idea. Who doesn’t love to receive flowers now and again.
I found a little inspiration on my travels this morning. When I saw this little notebook it started calling my name …
I think that I’m going to extend the beach hut theme to making a little cover for this notebook. It was the red cover that caught my eye. Red is my favourite colour of all. And then there’s the rainbow colours on the edges of the paper that made this little notebook irresistible. So it came home with me. Now I just need to find a few scraps of fabric to sew together to make a lovely notebook cover. Perhaps I will include a pocket to hold my pen in this notebook cover.
So it seems the weekend is upon us again. I can’t believe we’ve survived another week. It’s been a pretty busy week for me. And my energy levels are definitely better now. I’m looking forward to getting out and about this weekend. I don’t have a plan of action yet but I will confer with my buddies and we will decide what we’re doing. I think it’s time to have a little fun.
So for this evening, this very happy and ambitious longarm quilter will be hand piecing beach hut background patches. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly love doing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
