Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all enjoyed a super weekend. Mine has been rather productive. If you read me regularly you will know that I have been asked to longarm quilting a few quilt tops for Quilts for Comfort. And I have a deadline to hand over the quilts. I spent quite a lot of time in my sewing room longarm quilting during the day and spent my evenings hand finishing the binding of two of the three quilts. I hope to finish the binding on the last quilt this evening. I’m really pleased with my accomplishments this weekend. Nothing beats being able to help knowing that your effort makes a difference.
I took a little timeout in between longarm quilting and sewing some binding on by stepping outside for 30 minutes to prune a rampant ivy in my back garden. What a difference a few minutes makes in the grand scheme of things. Not only does the garden look better but I was able to clear my head while hacking away at the ivy. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and all was well with the world. While I was outside, I noticed that there are a lot of trees and shrubs that need clearing out of my garden. There are far too many trees dotted around willy nilly in my small garden. So in the interest of tidying and making things more attractive, I’m going to spend more time outside getting rid of the deadwood so to speak. There comes a time when it feels right to make a change by getting rid of things that don’t float your boat anymore. So I’ll need to purchase a couple of special garden tools to help make the job easier and of course I’ll have to gather up all my courage and then I will get rid of everything that I feel doesn’t belong where it is. I’ll let you know how this new adventure works out for me.
It’s been a really good weekend. My Sarah spent quite a lot of time adding finishing touches to her end of year uni assignment. I could hear a sewing machine whirring in the background while she did a bit more machine embroidery. Both her hand and machine embroidery is eye candy. I hope to show you her work soon. Today the sun was shining which always spurs me on to get jobs done. The coming week is going to be a pretty busy one so I might not be posting as often as I usually do during the week but that means when I come back I’ll loads to tell you. Hopefully.
So for this evening, this very happy and ambitious longarm quilter will be hand finishing the binding on quilt number 3. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
