Hello my lovelies. I hope your day has been as good as mine. While enjoying the sunshine I worked my way thru my To-Do List effortlessly. And I did all that while tucked safely in the slow lane of life. The slow lane is so much more interesting than speeding down life’s fast. It’s nice being able to take time to smell the flowers while enjoying the scenery.
After doing all the mundane household chores I moved onto the fun stuff which I must admit I enjoyed much more than tidying up, wiping down and putting away. My favourite task of the day was prepping another couple of Sweet Hearts Dozen blocks. Here’s the beach hut type block …..
I generally buy fat quarter bundles of specific fabric collections which I use for projects like this. It makes the task of choosing and matching colours and prints soooo much easier. Fabric collections are put together because they match and blend so well. So in my opinion you can’t go wrong whatever you choose from any fabric collection. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so the fabric I choose won’t necessarily appeal to everyone. I am thoroughly enjoying working on this project. Even the prep work!
Those of you who have been reading me lately will know that I have been doing a little work in the garden. Well here’s a little glimpse of the wee secret garden which lays right outside my sewing room window. It will soon be at its best. This is the entrance to my wee secret garden…
This is the part of the garden where we removed two trees recently. It looks so much tidier now. I’ll be adding some ground cover plants and mulch around the base of the one remaining tree soon. It’s such a treat looking out at a tidy garden now.
It’s been a grand day in my little world. Life is not always perfect so I try to pick something positive from every day. So the one thing I have chosen as a positive for today is the new view outside my sewing room window. I spend quite a lot time in that room so it’s great to have a nice view. Sometimes you have to put a little effort into something in order to make it better.
So for this evening, this very happy and super ambitious longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy doing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
