Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a great day. Mine has been rather busy flitting around here and there. I’m making great progress with UFOs of all description which definitely spurs me on to make more progress. I’ve added a few other projects to my list including furniture painting and stitchery work. In connection to accomplishing things, I found this quote by chance – Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant ~ Robert Louis Stevenson. I thought this was such an appropriate quote for UFO year.
I have made some headway with my newest UFO. It’s one I started drawing last autumn …
but now I have actually started piecing the blocks …..
You’ll notice that I have added my favourite hexagons and hearts to the mix. Whenever I don’t know what to work on I pull out some hexagons. You can always work some hexagons into any project.
A few weeks ago, I had a bookcase malfunction. Well I sorted the mess out by purchasing a new bookcase but while I was putting the books back in order I noticed so many books that I had forgotten I had. So, I decided that every week I would select a few books and peruse them for inspiration. So, this is this weeks’ selection. I’m hoping to find inspiration regarding shapes and perhaps colour schemes in these books. So watch this space.
I must tell you that we had a bit of a water shortage here in happy quilt maker land yesterday. One of the water mains in the road a few houses away burst. The road was suddenly flooded and of course the emergency services were called out to sort things out. They dug a great big hole in the road which of course caused major traffic jams. We had no water all day. The water company did a temporary fix to give us water and they’re supposed to come back to do a more permanent job soon. What a pain in the neck not having water. It caused a lot of excitement around here. It’s over and done with for the time being. Thank goodness for that.
The last few days in my little corner of the northeast of England have been rather nice. It almost feels like spring is just around the corner. However, Carol the weather lady did mention that the temperature is going to drop and we might be getting some snow on Thursday!!! I long for a little snow.
So, for this evening, this very happy and super ambitious quilt maker will be working on EPP elongated hexagons or perhaps some fine hand appliqué. I hope you all have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching ♥ ♥
