Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. I woke up this morning not knowing what planet I was on or even what day it was. I would say that’s a sign of a very good rest. I had to look at my tablet to work out what day it was and my diary and To-Do List to work out what I was supposed to be doing.

I have something to celebrate today. Yippeeeee

It’s with great pleasure that I can tell you that I have finished hand quilting my Sweethearts Dozen. And I have done the binding as well. I’m sorry for the quality of the photo. Today was not the best day to be taking photos. I will post some more photos at a later date to show you the embellishments.

The next step is to add the embellishments. I will be adding loads of buttons for the flower centres. And probably quite a few Yo-Yos as well. And of course, I will be adding a label. I’m a serious advocate for labelling quilts. I think it’s very important to add labels to our quilts for the simple reason that our quilts will outlive us. In 50 or 60 years from now when someone unearths my Sweethearts Dozen, I would like them to know that my quilt was finished in 2017 and by whom and in what county of England. I add a very simple label which lists all of the information mentioned but you can add anything you want to a label.

Now that my current hand quilting project is finished I miss it. I do enjoy a bit of hand sewing while watching TV in the evening. Luckily, I have plenty of other hand sewing to turn to. I think I’ll do a little work on my Patchwork of the Crosses for a few evenings until I decide exactly which of my other UFOs to turn to next.

It’s been a really good day in my little world. I was able to run a few errands this morning in the pouring rain. I concentrated the rest of the day on some chores. My bathroom is spotless. I was hoping to clean some windows but as it’s such a grey dull day, I thought it would be a better job for a sunny day when you can see what you’re doing. Saved by the weather.

So, for this evening, this very happy and super ambitious quilt maker will be doing some EPP work on my Patchwork of the Crosses quilt. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,

Happy stitching ♥ ♥

Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a fabulous Monday. It’s been a rather busy one for me. I took my Maisie in for her annual booster and general check-up. She’s in pretty shape given that she’s ten years old however she needs to go in for a simple procedure sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I have a little quilting progress to show you today …..

I am getting on a treat with the hand quilting on my Sweethearts Dozen quilt. It will be a while before this quilt is ready to be used but I am determined to have it finished before the school year starts again. I have no doubt that I will have to set it aside to work on something else now and again but I’m going to do my best not to turn it into a UFO. I think it’s too good to tuck it away to be dragged out years later to be finished.

So it’s been a pretty good day in my little world. I went to another movie this afternoon. I seem to have attracted a few other movie goers and perhaps by the end of the year I will have a little movie club going!!! I have selected two more movies to see from the coming attractions adverts run before the movie starts that I’m really looking forward to seeing.

I’m going to be taking a little blogging break for the next couple of weeks. If anything exciting comes along I will post but otherwise I will be resting my brain and gathering new inspiration. I’ll return refreshed and even more enthusiastic (if that’s possible) in a couple of weeks.

So for this evening, this very happy and super ambitious longarm quilter will be enjoying some hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly love doing. Until you read me again,

Happy stitching ♥ ♥

Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a brilliant day. We’ve had another super sunny day in my little corner of the northeast of England. The longest day of the year will soon be upon us. I can’t believe how time flies.

Today is tulip day. I love tulips especially these funky purple ones.

Tulips

The backgrounds that I use in my appliqué quilts tends mostly to be a soft light beige. I always found white a little stark but after seeing how nice these tulips look on a white background I think I am changing my mind. The different purples on this white background looks so fresh. I think I will have to give white a go for my next appliqué project. I hope I’ve got something appropriate in my stash. Well done Christine for being brave enough to use a white background.

I have two more Sweetheart blocks to show you today. With the great progress I’m making on the Sweethearts Dozen Appliqué quilt I’m going to have to find something else to post about soon! Here’s the progress from last evening …..

It’s been a really good day in my quiet little world. I mooched about and worked at my own favourite slow and measured pace. I enjoyed every minute of what I did. When you take your time doing something you get the chance to take it all in and appreciate the results of your effort.

Before I sign off for today, I would like to thank everyone who sent me good wishes regarding my different anniversary last week. All your kind words helped me celebrate this positive occasion.

So for this evening, this very happy and ambitious longarm quilter will be doing some more stitchery work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly love doing. Until you read me again,

Happy stitching ♥ ♥
